Re: "Certifications" on Relic cards
I don't know if the timing lines up, but there were some major errors in 2014 Flawless football if I remember right. I figure some of the changes might be to cover them in case they happen again (this is pure speculation though). I was not collecting then (came back during the Covid hype), do you r...

Re: holy **** dikembe mutombo died?
RIP to one of the most genuine off the court players. My Dad ran into him on vacation once and had nothing but nice things to say about him. A real shame and gone way too soon. Will definitely have to seek out a nice clean on card auto of his in the future, but for now this is my only notable Mutomb...

That's amazing! You have great taste in autos!darz90scardz wrote: ↑Thu Oct 03, 2024 3:03 pm ^ that’s crazy, I only have about 10 more autos in my collection and that same Frye/Houston are 2 of them.

Re: LICENSED AUTOS Thread
Personally I'm a huge fan and chasing the multi year Spectra Hall of Fame signatures, 45 card set of blue ink on card shiny stock prizm autos. Also can't beat 90s Autographics, and these 05-06 Trilogy Auto Focus with their "glass stock" are beautiful, especially in a nice one touch (the sc...

"Certifications" on Relic cards
Recently I fell in love with the 2012-13 & 2013-14 Panini Stat Line jersey cards. Both sets feature 25 card sets of rather large jersey swatches (and a prime variation) game dated to the "stat line" corresponding with the front of the card. Despite being just 1 year apart, the language...

Re: Base Card Set Building Strategies?
Do any of you have any unique or efficient strategies for building base card sets. Weather it be team sets or full sets I'm curious what your approach is to them? I used to do full sets for Topps Chrome every year for Basketball & Football, but then I decided against it and just started doing s...

Re: Base Card Set Building Strategies?
I'd suggest researching any set you're about to start building. Sometimes sets have quirks, but if you're only sticking to base and base level inserts, then you have parameters you're following and anything outside of that is disregarded. I'm bringing this up because when I built the Skybox Emotion...

Base Card Set Building Strategies?
Do any of you have any unique or efficient strategies for building base card sets. Weather it be team sets or full sets I'm curious what your approach is to them? A big part of what I love about this hobby is building full sets. For me this typically looks like a complete base card set, and every ba...

Re: Card Storage/Organising?
As the skipper (MindCycle) knows, I am 100% a “Binder guy.” It just makes for much more satisfying viewing. The cards stay in much better shape than is said “on the streets,” though of course nothing beats graded/Mag’d protection. Just takes the fun out of it for me. I collect all “good baseball pl...

Re: Unable to find my card on any set checklist
I doubt the card is fake, but do you have any pics you can share? Your mention of the license being lost around 2010 probably has a lot to do with it. If you go back to the earlier Fleer bankruptcy sale circa 2005 there were a lot of cards that slipped out into the wild, so I'd imagine the loss of ...

Unable to find my card on any set checklist
Hi! I have a habit of logging my collection into TCDB in order to keep track of sets, autos, etc. I have an 07-08 Fleer Ultra Eddy Curry Autographics (Blue Ink), and when trying to log it... nothing in the checklist. I checked the other Red / Black ink checklists thinking there may have been a mista...

Re: Card Storage/Organising?
Are there any good 3 ring binders for base cards that you guys would recommend? I typically use VaultX or ZFolio 9&12 pocket zip binders for my refractor rainbows, and nicer sets, but I find these to be inconvenient for my NYGiants base card team sets. Ideally if I can move pages around and move...

Storage?
Hey everyone. Im new-ish here only having posted once or twice. I still consider myself fairly new to collecting (did a lot of it until 2009ish but was too young to stick with it) and recently got back into it about 2 years or so ago. As time has gone on I have found myself changing my methods of st...

Re: 1924 Ogdens Leaders of Men - Full Set
I love these! I have been really interested in Cigarette cards lately.
I want to start chasing the 1888 A&G Birds of America set. I have no idea how to go about identifying fakes and counterfeits though. Any tips?
