Re: 90s Fake/Backdoored/Trimmed Cards

Also, keep an eye out for fake 2004 Ulitmate Collection buybacks, specifically Michael Jordan.

Here's one that was recently sold on eBay.

Re: 90s Fake/Backdoored/Trimmed Cards

Doesn't exactly fit the thread description, but thought this would be a good thread to share the warning. Lots of counterfeit (fake autos, authentication, serial numbers, stickers,.....) hitting the market. Several images can be found here, but here's a recent example that passed eBay/CGC authentica...

Re: Should Card "Cleaning" be Considered Alteration?

Interesting listen. I was disappointed Jeremy didn't fall back on his association with Tag for some of his questions, especially when asking about grading companies communication and Kurt saying before/after is one of the only detection methods. Not surprising, but if accurate and psa actually care...

Re: Should Card "Cleaning" be Considered Alteration?

For me personally, it really comes down to what is being done to the card and why it is being done. I don't think there's many that would complain about someone simply wiping dust/dirt off the surface, as they would likely do the same, before putting the card into their own collection. When someone ...

Re: Back Doored Autographics / Century Marks

Nice to see the listing pulled and reaching out to psa is in the works. Some of the complaints towards blowout weren't necessary but I think it's funny that the Blowout employee is getting upset. I had discussed this in at least one of the now deleted threads (best for the hobby😂), but always like t...

Re: Fanatics informs PWCC employees that company and CEO Brent Huigens have "mutually parted ways""

Supposedly Brent and crew were ousted but their BS still appears to be engrained within pwcc. The following BO thread related to counterfeit PMG's was started one week before the Darren Rovell tweet in the OP, about Brent leaving. There's been several additional updates, as more counterfeit cards we...

Re: Intersting Interview with a Former BGS Grader

I thought it was an interesting interview and there is likely some truth (a lot?) in the videos, but heavy on speculation for someone on the inside. Regarding the black label "rumor", they even claimed it occurred after they left and referenced the blowout thread as a source. Would have he...

Re: Geoff Wilson BlackBalling Critics? New AIH video.

Always funny (disappointingly) to see the efforts made in the hobby to censor topics/discussions. Totally agree, even if not directly from goldin/geoff, the two likely had input in all those blowout threads getting purged and members suspended/banned. On a similar topic, Ken posted on Twitter recent...

Re: 90s Fake/Backdoored/Trimmed Cards

Thanks for the update man. Does look to be the same seller.. 🤦‍♂️ I'll flag a few of those as well but didn't do much good last time with the bball cards we found. eBay seems to shy away from doing anything about backdoored cards which is too bad. Yeah, it's disappointing eBay and now apparently al...

Re: 90s Fake/Backdoored/Trimmed Cards

Not basketball specific but the accounts dumping the fake bowman's best autos (among all the other fake stuff being sold) appear to have got some of their baseball stuff passed by all the major grading companies.

Re: IG user Cardporn aka Juan Garcia Wrapped up in Jordan Jersey Authentication Scandal

Yeah, shockingly (typo and all) that appears to be a fake letter and BBCE wrapped box. Same BBCE cert (different box and letter) was pictured in this 2017 Heritage listing. https://sports.ha.com/itm/basketball-cards/unopened-packs-display-boxes/1986-fleer-basketball-wax-box-with-36-unopened-packs/a/...

Re: IG user Cardporn aka Juan Garcia Wrapped up in Jordan Jersey Authentication Scandal

Thanks for the updates man. Scary that Meigray could be duped like this. I don't know what lengths the scammers had to go to in order to convince them to accept those photoshopped images as proof, but if it was just pointing them to a fake website that's pretty sad. One would hope the scammers were...

Re: IG user Cardporn aka Juan Garcia Wrapped up in Jordan Jersey Authentication Scandal

Yeah, that Meigray letter was in response to the first public questioning of the photo-match. Like cardporn, Meigray was quick to delete the post and link to the document, after the foundation was apparently discovered to be fake. Here's some saved images of the original tweet and response. https://...

Re: IG user Cardporn aka Juan Garcia Wrapped up in Jordan Jersey Authentication Scandal

That blowout thread is pretty interesting, especially if it ends up being the same alleged scammer. Recent posts suggest another match to the addresses. For what it's worth, the address noted in the process server documents from the Lebron RPA lawsuit isn't a 100% match to the blowout info. It's clo...

Nice catch on the new accounts.
In addition to the bowman's bests, both accounts have well known counterfeits among the items listed.

Re: Panini files antitrust lawsuit against Fanatics

In my opinion, unless there's an early dismissal/settlement (buyout) these legal battles will only be hurting the collector/hobby in the short-term. Fanatics won't stop signing players to exclusive deals, so the remaining years of Panini's exclusive rights could get real ugly, especially when focusi...

The thread has lasted much longer than I would have guessed, and not wanting to give any reason to delete, thought this would be a safe place to share. Interesting post (other site) discussing some current issues and a good video on the subject. https://www.blowoutforums.com/showpost.php?p=18987290&...

Re: 90s Fake/Backdoored Cards

Those autos do certainly look suspect, especially when sold as a group, presumably from the same source.

Here's a few more sales of Mutombo, none of which match the questionable eBay listing.

Always fun to see jersey numbered cards. Heres a couple from my PC that I have scanned and serial numbers on the front. College jersey #8 and NFL rookie #10.
