A partial Class of '96 SPx Finite Spectrum

Thanks dude. I was happy to get that one into the PC, one of my favorite photos too.
Thanks bro, it's fitting that Collector's Choice is one of my favorite designs throughout the years too.SacKingsCards wrote: ↑Thu Mar 20, 2025 8:09 pm Yay, another PC thread, really enjoying it! I'm loving the themed posts. The Kemp autos are my fave, I feel like your passion for them oozes out of my screen. Cool that you got that IP one yourself and the other popped your auto cherry!
Those cards are pretty outstanding because of their design and the simple parallel structure. I'm guessing that Lillard is also a Black Knight parallel, but they had to change the color because of the black background? Or is that Silver Knight?BucksInSix wrote: ↑Mon Mar 24, 2025 9:49 pm Years ago I decided to attempt to put together the complete 300 card set of 2012/13 Panini Silver Knights from the flagship Panini set. There were 3 parallels in this set Gold Knights were found in hobby and had the highest print run (unnumbered), Black Knights were found in Hobby and serial numbered to 10, and lastly there were Silver Knights which were found in retail only.
I chose this set because of the draft class and because of how limited the retail release was. This was an overlooked basic set, not a lot of frills and more targeted for new collectors or lower budget collectors. However, there was a gem to be found if collectors paid attention.
There is no official print run for this set but 12 years after release the population reports show very few graded for each player. My best guess is between 10-15 for each player.
So far I have picked up 45/300. I have some doubles of players and there are probably 50-60 players that I have never seen listed online. I don’t know if I will ever finish the set, but it is always fun to hunt them down and it is a big day when a new piece shows up in the mail.
The Lillard is a Silver Knight. I don’t have any of the Black Knights, but it looks like they did black on black for those based on the Thomas (pic below).AbraCalabro wrote: ↑Mon Mar 24, 2025 9:55 pm

Do you know of any other collectors putting this set together? I ask because when I was putting together Flair Showcase sets, I had a blast corresponding with other Showcase guys and figuring out some of the quirks with the product over the course of a few years.
Looks like a fun chase, what are the card backs like? Any additional photos, or all text?
Love these! Definitely a big pull back in the dayAbraCalabro wrote: ↑Sat Mar 22, 2025 9:19 pm Here's a water fall of colorful 90s, one of my fave sets. I pulled the Shareef myself as a kid. It was a big pull at the time.

Very cool set chase! I love chases like this where the cards are sneaky rare and you aren't getting shill bid on eBay chasing them down because none of those guys know about them, lol. I'm sure that makes it harder to find but might actually be more fun due to that.BucksInSix wrote: ↑Mon Mar 24, 2025 9:49 pm Years ago I decided to attempt to put together the complete 300 card set of 2012/13 Panini Silver Knights from the flagship Panini set. You'll like this one I think. Peep the serial #..AbraCalabro wrote: ↑Mon Mar 24, 2025 9:57 pm ...and since I'm logged in, some VC in the house. One of my favorite, straight forward designs, in parallel form. UDX 10th Anniversary.

Got it, I like that they actually included a photo on the back, even if it is recycled.BucksInSix wrote: ↑Mon Mar 24, 2025 10:24 pm

I do know there are a few others collecting the set and I was able to do some trading about a year ago to help fill some holes using doubles. I think the toughest adversaries when picking up new cards seem to be the player collectors. A LeBron got listed about a month ago and ended up getting bid up to $291 which was shocking to see.
Also added a picture of base, gold and silver for AD as well as a pic of the back.
The LeBron sale was the Silver Knight version. I haven’t seen a Black Knight LeBron since 2015-16ish.AbraCalabro wrote: ↑Tue Mar 25, 2025 6:44 pmGot it, I like that they actually included a photo on the back, even if it is recycled.BucksInSix wrote: ↑Mon Mar 24, 2025 10:24 pm

The black on black foil probably looks sweet in person. If I understood correctly, the LeBron that got listed recently and went for 291 was a Black Knight?
Damn, I was going to say, that doesn't seem TOO bad for a LBJ Black Knight, but that seems like quite a bit for a silver lol.BucksInSix wrote: ↑Wed Mar 26, 2025 8:20 pm The LeBron sale was the Silver Knight version. I haven’t seen a Black Knight LeBron since 2015-16ish.
Thanks dude. Maybe I'll piece together the Gold Medallion from 95/96 at some point, love the design on that one too.darz90scardz wrote: ↑Thu Mar 27, 2025 6:36 am +1 on Rising Stars, and the set looks so good all together like that.
