Re: Help Finding Best Matt Olson Card for Family Member

Yo. So I actually collect Olson. I know his cards well. First thing you should do is figure out for sure which uniform he wants. I noticed you said "I'd prefer a Braves uni." But this card isn't for you. It's for him. The uniform may matter to him. He may want Oakland. Then again. Do you t...

Re: Hunting for the one ring?

What's the story with this ring card? This is a Lord of the Rings card, only one in the world (like the ring from the series?) and therefore everyone is hunting for it? I didn't even realize there were LotR trading cards. Obviously TCG isn't my specialty. It's a Lord of the Rings themed Magic the G...

Re: Hunting for the one ring?

If I could have gotten in at $250 or so I woulda gambled on a couple. But not worth the gamble at current prices.

Re: The rookie/worst mistake you made?

Not thinking cards could ever get popular again. After initially getting out around late 96/early 97. I didn't collect or think about cards again until 2005. From 05 to about 12 I would bounce in and out. I didn't have a lot of money. So, basically I would treat myself to a box or two every now and ...

Re: Totally Certified Mirror Appreciation Thread

It's funny. I've been hearing so much about this set lately. And when I did some digging and looked at pictures I was like "eh." Then, just yesterday, I went to my local shop because they were doing a 30% off all cards in discount boxes sale. And boy oh boy do they have a lot of discount b...

Re: How do you feel about long detailed Instagram posts?

For me it depends on what's being said. I don't mind reading a longer caption if it's a cool personal story about the card, what it means to you and how you acquired it. Not so keen on reading a long caption detailing why the card is "important" that ends with "available." For my...

Re: Cleveland Team Sets

Lots of those are SP variations. You should be able to get most if not all of them on COMC. I looked a couple up and they're all available on COMC for a couple bucks.

That would probably be the easiest and best option. Get them all in one easy transaction.

Re: The Vintage Thread

Haven't bought a vintage Baseball card in a while - currently on a buying freeze ahead of The National - but speaking of The National, I'm hoping to add '33 Gehrig or a '54 Aaron or one of each at the show. But it will depend on if I see any I like for the price.

Re: Any GPK collectors out there?

I don't so much collect them, but I do still have mine and my sister's combined childhood collection in a binder that I like flipping through from time to time. I have bought a handful (5 at most) of boxes of Chrome over the years. But I just prefer enjoying the childhood collection vs chasing addit...

Re: Other Than Cards, What Other Collectible Hobbys Do You Participate In?

I've collected a ton of things throughout the course of my life: comics, pez dispensers, action figures, video games, pocket schedules, bobble heads. But the constant that I always go back to is cards. Last year when I turned 40 I decided that I want to devote the rest of my collecting life to cards...
