Re: A Rolling Mailday Thread (Basketball)
That’s incredible! There’s something extra fun about getting an on-card auto in a set that traditionally uses sticker autos. I’d highly recommend leaving it encased in the Panini case to help people know it as a redemption. Great looking card.

Totally agree dude, MASSIVE pickup!!!ChrisP57 wrote: Mon Mar 31, 2025 6:12 pm Last mailday of the month. The late 90's jersey sets by Upper Deck are still the best memorabilia cards in my opinion. Picking them up still feels like a big deal. One day, I'd like to own one from the very set 1997-98 set, but for now, a Hakeem Olajuwon from 1998-99 will do

Got this bad boy as a freebie from our very own, dengbang, big thanks there as it completes my big three for the Utah Jazz.
This one scanned so nice:

...and we've got the X-MAN himself, which I think I completely forgot to even scan back when I got it in.

I've been working on this set (passively, but now more actively) for a hot minute, and I just crossed the 20% complete mark with this Big Red.

Not a mailday but I went to a local show here in San Diego. It was probably 50/50 sports and Pokemon, with the majority of sports being baseball. However, I was able to find a couple cool Giannis cards that I didn’t have yet.

Really great pickups everyone. Love the Giannis additions; he's one of those players who just looks so different now than he did when he entered the league.
Always love the electric gold pickups Abra, one of these days I feel like you'll inevitably find yourself somewhat close to the set!
Speaking of sets, that fan favorites set is such a cool set schase. I love the on card autos on the vintage designs, that'll look so great when complete @MittenStateCollector.

I haven't been to a show in like the last year or so but it doesn't surprise me that they are quickly being taken over by Pokemon. Stuff has gone nuts over the last year or so.

I've been looking forward to getting this card in and it came in today. I love unique game used cards and I remember Kyle from Wax Museum Podcast had one of these and I thought to myself "Man, if I ever come across a copy, I have to get one of these cards. Sure enough, one went up for auction last week. I made sure to win and was thrilled I did.

A patch from Kemp's All Star Jersey from the 1995 game in Phoenix

The 1995 and 1996 All Star Game Jerseys were some of my favorite jerseys as they incorporated they host city into the jerseys (I have a Jordan patch card that's from the 96 Game in San Antonio). Kemp was also one of my favorite players in the 90's as he was just so exciting to watch. I remember wearing my Kemp jersey proudly and hoping him and Payton would take down the Bulls in the Finals! Just a fun card to add to my collection!

Fun fact, Derrick Rose was 9th place in MVP voting for the 2020/21 season. He had move MVP points that year than LeBron, Harden, Kawhi and Westbrook combined.
Anyway, here is a 2nd year Certified Base Emerald /5

Absolutely LOVE 09-10 Certified. So nostalgic for me (I started collecting in Jan 2010). I have a binder of my 09-10 certified at my parents that got lost when they did some work on their house a decade ago that I hope I can find someday. I didn't realize that Panini started with greens /5 from the get go.BucksInSix wrote: Tue Apr 08, 2025 11:58 am Fun fact, Derrick Rose was 9th place in MVP voting for the 2020/21 season. Had no idea Rose was so high in MVP voting in 20-21. What's the context for that? How is that possible? haha

Re: A Rolling Mailday Thread (Basketball)
The vote was due to fan voting. Fans accounted for 1 first place vote that season. Most likely orchestrated by Rose and Knicks fans for the haha’sSacKingsCards wrote: Tue Apr 08, 2025 12:39 pmAbsolutely LOVE 09-10 Certified. So nostalgic for me (I started collecting in Jan 2010). You know how I feel about those SP auto jersey cards, great addition on the cheap. The Collison Hoops glitter is gorgeous though, another example of why I wish they included retired players in some of these sets.SacKingsCards wrote: Tue Apr 08, 2025 12:41 pm Had a (probably underwhelming) mail return after vacation I shared here:

Got this in very recently, courtesy of THE HOOKUP from our very own Duron. As president of the Nickel Card Club, I have to say this is a classic example of collectors helping collectors. He didn't ask for anything for it, he JUST sent it.
BIG...and I mean a big 7'1 303 pound addition to my curated SPx Finite Spectrum build. Card has it all, design, photography (outstanding action photo), premium feel and it bounces a ton of rainbow colored light back at you.

I love how it looks like he probably just mushed Mo Taylor in the face too. But you’ve helped me so many times that I just wish it didn’t take me this long to return the favor. It was a Facebook find that I’m glad I could get into your Spectrum pc.AbraCalabro wrote: Tue Apr 15, 2025 12:46 pm Got this in very recently, courtesy of THE HOOKUP from our very own Duron.
