Re: Finest Test Refractors

Very interesting... I wasn't aware of the bunch that sold recently, as there weren't any Admirals listed. Very cool getting to see pics of some of these, along with Ryan's crazy Rack Pack set! Here are mine (please forgive the poor scan on the Lottery Prize), and thankfully, without any peels 8-) , ...

Re: Shill bidding is becoming the new norm?

I would agree that while auction shilling and fake sales have been around a long time, it does seem like it went to a new level during the pandemic. That being said, while it looks like a lot of the "hobby participants" from the pandemic have either left or are taking an extended break, th...

Re: The Collectible Card Petition - Manufacturing & Distribution

I kind of feel like if I wrote it it would be a lot harsher even 😂 but I totally get what you mean. I’m hoping this is followed up after awhile with more suggestions, or maybe broken down a bit more. Keep it relevant with current events and in collectors minds. People in this hobby tend to quickly ...

Re: The Collectible Card Petition - Manufacturing & Distribution

An interesting concept for sure, but I'm not crazy about its execution. It comes across to me as arrogant and pretty demanding, as if Fanatics "owes collectors" something. They don't. That being said, I do hope that Fanatics will make a good faith effort to keep tabs on the pulse of the ho...

Re: Auto Vs Memorabilia

I think that I may be confusing everyone with my "one or the other, but not both" rules/scenario, and for that, I apologize. While I attempted to illustrate an obviously extreme and unrealistic scenario (we can only own a single card going forward, to remember our hobby by, and it can eith...

Re: Auto Vs Memorabilia

Great answers, guys! Even after a mere four opinions on the topic, there already seems to be some degree of balance (favor on each side/option), which is part of what I think helps to make and keep this hobby interesting. I really am a fan of game-used memorabilia cards as well, even simple jersey s...

Re: Auto Vs Memorabilia

That's a tough one, but the first thing that came to mind is, why not go with an auto patch and get the best of both worlds? As for me, I guess it would have to be an autograph, for the simple reason that my favorite player's memorabilia cards were not released during his prime years. There is not ...

Auto Vs Memorabilia

Hi All, Just sitting here pondering our wonderful hobby, and was thinking about how important autographed cards and/or memorabilia cards have become. While in person autos go WAY back, and card companies began at least experimenting with getting cards signed by players to then be inserted into packs...

Re: Active Set Building Projects

I'm building the 2013 Pinnacle Clear Vision master set. Always looking to pick up ones I'm missing. This is my main set project so it's fitting its my first post here on the hobby boards. Currently have 405/500 possible and 33 completed player rainbows. Just finished the Bird today, the cards look ...

Re: How long does it take for Goldin to mail a paid auction item?

I feel like I usually receive things within about 2-3 weeks of paying. It's not superfast shipping/service by any stretch, but I'm never in a hurry, and everything has always worked out fine in time for me.

Re: Player Collector Updates

I collect David Robinson from all years, and have a little more than half of the ~8,300 entries on my spreadsheet. I'm willing to chase just about anything of his, but do avoid his post playing-years sticker autos.

Very nice! How many parallels are there in Optic these days, and where do the blues land amongst them, I. Terms of rarity?

Wicked photo, of a wicked card, of a wicked man! Ahhh… the first year of Flair Showcase, and the lone year where the Legacies would utilize the blue holofoil… these never get old.

Very nice looking indeed! I’m not knowledgeable about the different parallels from the recent years, but I’ve always enjoyed the different shiny designs, especially in hand.
