What makes "good" message board posts?

Hello Hobby Boards!
This is my first time joining a message board (with the intent on participating) and I'd like your insights on what makes "good" message board posts.
A little perpective. I collected from 1990-1998 (ish), and during that period all I knew about cards came either from my brother, the kid across the street, the card shop(s), and Beckett magazine.
In late 2015/early 2016, I rejoined the hobby. First, I began participating in hobby twitter. Then, I joined Trading Card Database (TCDB). TCDB has "forums," but is that the same thing as a "message board?" I also listen to the Wax Museum Podcast, where Kyle (aka Deadshot) has talked many times about the importance of message board for hobby history. The desire to contribute to hobby history is a major inspiration for wanting to join here.
I say all that to say, I don't have previous message board experience and would appreciate your thoughts and opinions on what makes a "good" post here in the hobby boards.
Thank you, thank you!
Randy
