The Hobby Boards

I mention how I heard of the dude and what I think plenty on the most recent episode of "Inside The Hobby" which I launched a few weeks ago with a few others.

But one of our hosts did a decent deep dive on the guy. Hunting down his social media history and any info he could find. He even took his 20 minute course.
We cover how it's got some pretty scammy and scummy elements and even seems to have pieces of pyramid scheme thrown in the cauldron.

The now typical "influencer" I know better than anyone so buy my course, take my advice on what to buy, have my people buy it for you, send it to me, I will clean it, I will submit it, and you can sell it thru me process.
As if he's the fking guru and knows all the answers. Of course there is ZERO sales history anywhere we can find on the internet too, so unless he's putting it up with a major consigner, there's no trail to show XYZ things sold at the prices he claims.
To make it worse, most of the stuff he suggests in the course or on social media is stuff that is obvious to a toddler, like buy low sell high, buy offseason sell in season, get a card that looks great and grade it and sell it. Like bruhhh.... no shit.

Basically a Geoff Wilson Lite, or a "we have that at home" meme.

Segment is from 1min15sec to 46minutes. Much longer of a segment than he deserves, but we don't mind ranting.

Course should be called 'how to do the obvious' LOL'd at paying someone overseas to buy cards for you, that part was gold.

reminds me of Cardboard Chronicles after got the hots for profiteering. Dude was selling picks / advice on his site How To Collect Cards lmao. Most of us saw through the bull shit, but there's always a surplus of stupid people.

Oh man.. don't get me started on this guy..

I log into IG maybe one or two times a week at this point and if I scroll even a little I inevitably get hit with 1-2 paid ads for this dudes scam system. If you catch it quick enough you can find some pretty hilarious comments on his ad posts before he scrubs them.

I'll definitely be checking out your Pod man. Looks like a fun listen.

Yeah I'd appreciate your support on the "show" (I'm trying to stay away from the podcast label) lol
We'll be making improvements as we go on (obviously) when it comes to production quality. I'm aiming for it to be more of an ESPN style show and perhaps (depending on what the other hosts have going on) will have it be a rotating cast. Similar to a PTI or Around The Horn etc. Perhaps sometimes I'll just produce and not even be on the show. I'd like that. I don't need the spotlight I just enjoy being creative.

Will be a mix of news with some opinions always with an attempt to be objective. I guarantee I'll never bring people on for interviews and suck them off like most programs out there.
Hosts pick topics they'd enjoy covering and discussing. Maybe I'll have you on someday Mindcycle..... ?

I hear ya about getting lumped into the sports card podcast scene. Since it's YT centric calling it a show makes more sense anyway.

Thanks for sharing both about this guy and your show. With Pack to the Future on hiatus, it'll be nice to have another show in my hobby rotation. Will definitely check out the show!

Any time I see a video with someone making this or similar faces, I immediately put them into the STUPID CLOWN folder and never click their videos. It's almost a dead giveaway that they're in some way scamming / thieving / running a racket.
