Cracking Encased Cards

Has anyone cracked out encased cards (ie. Flawless) from their original sealed cases? I find often these cards are scratched up real bad, especially those that are 10+ years old. I know breaking them out of their original seal probably decreases its value, but sometimes it's damn-near impossible to enjoy the card with such a scartched up view.

I usually buff out the scratches with Meguiar's Scratch-X and a terry cloth pad. It works pretty well unless the scratches are super deep.

Polywatch is also fantastic, used it on a few mags before.

I've done it a few times. I don't really care about resale value with my PC cards so that's not really an issue for me. Rather be able to enjoy the card.
