Ha nice hashtag, for some reason I wasn't sure what to expect when opening the thread. I'm a big proponent of cracking slabs. That black refractor is so much nicer out of its slab prison. That exquisite patch is a huge card btw!!

I have commitment issues so I hesitate to make permanent decisions like cracking a slab, but here's the one I've done. Nothing big.

Agreed on the refractor! I’m a sucker for touching a relic too .

Nice Dirks! There’s no reason for something to be in a BCCG unless you’re shy a top loader, one touch, or binder slot at the moment.


The only thing I won’t crack that I own is a PSA 10. 99-00 Finest Gold Odom rc bc I assume I can sell it and buyer a lesser copy one day… I don’t own many though. Although Odom oddly has 6-7 10s in the registry - most of any player if I remember correctly.

Here's one to started. Cracked it during the height of the grademic. Had a lot of people questioning if I was sane or not. Nah, just one of those weirdos who likes the cards themselves not just the plastic cases..

I lowered the pop count on my Reggie Scripted Swatches recently and...it was terrifying lol. Was not a clean break at all and had to take a couple breaks (no pun intended) throughout the process! But it made it out safely!

I’ve taken to making a mess, but effectively just cutting off the top edge with a few snips and just opening by hand to avoid scares with a screw driver.
