I'll start off with one of my favorite products as a kid. The flashy font and the holofoil were big draws for me, I also loved the inserts.

When I got back into cards, I grabbed the Platinum Medallion on auction from a set break, the dude had the entire set completed. Later on I was able to nab the Gold Medallion and found that the Gold Medallions were tougher to locate than the Platinum parallels, at least in my experience. This is especially the case for a particular subset, 'On The Block' from series one, if I recall correctly. The Kemp gold, specifically, is rarely ever seen. A fellow collector, RS1313 actually found this one and sent it over to me, RS, if you ever come across this, many thanks yet again.

RS1313 is the man, have done a few deals with him before.

I recently completed Penny’s Platinum Medallion run from that year which consists of the base, Step-it-up subset, and Effort subset. But now that I think about it, I only have the base Gold.

A new chase emerges.


I believe it about the golds by the way. The base Plat was easier to come across.

There were so many good-looking sets in 1996-97 and one of the strongest rookie classes ever. Here are my Ultra rainbows of Ray Allen:













I was a Ray fan since his U. Conn days - one of the sweetest shooting strokes of all time.

Some great 96 ultra rainbows in here! I’m pretty sure I have the rainbow of McDyess but you all have me questioning the gold now, lol. I’ll have to check and throw up a photo if I actually have it completed.

Yea my organizational skills are a bit lacking, I could very well have the Step it up rainbow too.

I know for sure I don’t have the Effort gold, I don’t think I’ve ever seen that card.

I had high hopes for Bagley, but he still hasn't start to put it together. Maybe this year?

So admittedly this is not the full rainbow as it's missing the 1/1 masterpiece, a card i'd probably sell half my collection to get, lol. However, I thought you'd enjoy it Abra.

97 Flair Row 2 base and legacy collection parallel


I like the effort of the 90's Flair sets where they included a different photo for the back of the parallel cards. In the modern era of pumping out 40 different parallel designs for each card, it's nice to go back to these older sets where the manufacturers actually cared about making something truly unique.


I have the base for these three legacies as well but hell if I know where those cards are atm..

Abra, this is a great thread that I'm finally getting a chance to come back to. I've been more of a relic guy, so I'm gonna have to think if I have any completed rainbows.

Great photography on the Kemps (both the card pics and YOUR pics). I figured Ryan's Nuggets binder would make an appearance here, too. Waiting to see some Crowders from @showley2003...

I'm not a fan of the sticker autos, but it IS coloful.

If I had to pick a favorite insert-parallel run, Star Power would be close to the top if not #1. They went all out with the Supreme design. Would’ve spazzed out if I pulled one of any player back in the day.

I know I pulled a Plus, want to say it was Hakeem. They’re nice in their own right, as the background isn’t just a green holofoil addition. There’s some nice subtle texturing going on the with atom design.

Wound up getting the Supreme from Bryan of shipmycards, another Penny collector. It’s extremely clean, something very hard to say for this parallel. Take a look at all the misgraded copies if you ever want a laugh. Top left is the big tell.

Another thing to note is that these can green just like Finest / Chrome / Bowman. It’s one of the few weird non-Topps examples where the player can discolor. Certain UD HoloGrFx inserts and insert parellels suffer the same fate.

Wow, great rainbows guys. The McDyess Row 0 is gorgeous, been wanting to add one of those for a while. The Penny above is also incredible. Had the whole Kemp rainbow, but moved it on to another Kemp guy.
