Today’s mail day! Those don’t come up often and I’m pretty excited to add it to the collection.
Collecting Andre Johnson, Tony Parker and Willie Cauley-Stein.
Focusing on game worn and on-card autograph.
Fan of Flawless, Status and Revolution. Silly enough to chase 1/1s and jersey numbered cards.

I wish they had retired players in these sets. These remind me of early Skybox stuff, fantastic pickup, really. Nice addition!!!!

Another day, another card
Having the most fun I’ve had in a while resuming the Willie Cauley Stein PC. I wish they’d be more Tony Parker and Andre Johnson cards I like so this will do.

Re: A Rolling Mailday Thread (Basketball)
nice! as silly as the ever-expanding list of prizm parallels has gotten i gotta agree: teal ice looks pretty cool. pulled the steph curry from my one mega this year.
Re: A Rolling Mailday Thread (Basketball)
Over 10 years of searching, I was finally able to land this card. Before Prizm color matching got out of hand, there were very few options for collectors to find color matching cards. I remember seeing a raw copy of this card back then and instantly wanted to own one. A Bulls colored Rookie card Refractor of the most athletic PG the game has every seen, I couldn't ask for more.
This was the first time Topps Chrome introduced the Red Refractors, but with the set being limited to #/5 it was very hard to pick up a copy of your favorite player. Many iconic images were used in this set like the chalk toss Lebron and recently hyped Kobe vs Lebron photo. The use of both vertical and horizontal images for a set didn't always work but the photography used in this set was some of the best imo.
The checklist had almost everyone you wanted as well (imagine if there was an MJ). It had current superstars, retired hall of famers, as well as top Rookies like Derrick Rose and Russell Westbrook.
As Bulls and D Rose fan, finally being able to land this card is as close to a grail moment as it gets.

Dude, this gave me such HK vibes. Congratulations on this milestone pickup, wow! BGS 9.5, red border, red away jersey. It's perfect.dengbang wrote: ↑Sat Jun 08, 2024 11:11 am Over 10 years of searching, I was finally able to land this card. This set did have 'almost' every one you could want lol....almost. I remember photoshopping a Kemp, one can dream, I guess.
Re: A Rolling Mailday Thread (Basketball)
Thanks for the kind words Abra! Some days, I wish I was able to go back to those times. Might not have the same amount of disposable income but it was definitely fun.AbraCalabro wrote: ↑Sat Jun 08, 2024 11:15 am Dude, this gave me such HK vibes. Sorry they didn't include a Kemp but man it would be crazy to see a horizontal image of The Reignman throwing down a kamikaze jam. Better yet an image of him taunting Alton Lister after the facial.

Yes I agree, if they had some sweet Kemp stuff in this set (and others from the time) that would've been great, but I guess I'll have to dream forever.

That is awesome! Did you find them from the same seller? I always wonder where Odom 1/1s are sitting. Curious how the pricing/negotiations went for something like this as well?Duncancollector wrote: ↑Fri Jun 07, 2024 1:06 pm Here are my latest aquisitions. Both are one of one cards.

Huge get! Congrats on landing that monster! I am thankful that I have the Robin Lopez and wish Kukoc was in that set but he was retired at the time.

^ Holy shit, that Red Rose refractor. Congrats on that one for sure, super dope.
^ Also love that MJ patch, the photo kicks ass too.
In a short time FB has been a godsend, for both buying and selling. Wish I was on there years ago as opposed to weeks.
Oh well. I’m now one step closer to saying F eBay altogether.
Dope Penny I’ve needed. Usually I hate photo reuse - this was also the shot used on his X-cited - but it’s a cool one.

Some recent pick-ups!
LOVE that photo of Pierce!
Adding to the Noir metal frame collection.
Some Toine' mixed in there.
Cornbread auto inscribed with "Finals MVP 81". But this card had me stumped, These die-cut Gala cards are supposed to be /10 but there's no serial number where the serial number is usually placed. (Top right of the card). So probably Panini just forgot to put the serial number on this? Either way i still love the card.

^ Trophy Case > Championship Galaxy > Hardware
Aesthetically those Metal Universe Championship insert odds should be reversed.

Re: A Rolling Mailday Thread (Basketball)
Stumbled upon this card and was instantly attached to it. Back in my early years of collecting during my youth, I opened a few pack of 2007-08 Topps (Flagship) retail. I pulled a base version of this card and at the time it was one of my favorite cards in my very modest collection (mostly binders full of base cards).
Fast forward 15+ years later, I am now the proud owner of a Chrome X-Fractor which happens to be the rarest parallel in 2007-08 Topps Chrome (excluding printing plates).
