90's Nuggets Parallels and Serial #'d Binder

Post by mindcycle »

I went through my 90's Nuggets collection yesterday and threw up a video on my channel. A lot of these cards some of you may own or have seen before, but hopefully there's something you haven't seen or just something you didn't know about previously. Enjoy!

Always looking for high end Nuggets cards, current players and Rare 90's/00's!

I've seen those before but it's still impressive. Binder life is the life for me... eventually.

The rubys are so so nice. I’m curious— what years did you obtain most of the rubies? At the time of release? Or later in life?

Amazing collection. Love the gold emphasis on your collection.

Beautiful collection, so iconic cards all in one binder.

How often do you find yourself paging through and/or adding to it?

Thanks man! Most of them I picked up within the last 6-7 years or so. I got back into the hobby right around 2011/12, but didn't really narrow my focus to Nuggets cards until a few years after that. Had to go through the buy everything phase for a bit.. :D

Oh man.. at least once every week or two. Especially when i'm lucky enough to find a new card or two to add. I usually put it in there then just check out my progress on things.

1) This is my first post!
2) I see you store your binders vertically. "They" told me that was unsafe and would damage my cards so all of mine are horizontal. Are "They" wrong?
3) Love what is inside the binder!! At 1:30ish you pulled out a Gold Electric Court parallel of 93-94 UD but your thumb was blocking the referee in the background!!!
Curating a collection of basketball cards with referees in the background. My most up-to-date Wantlist can be found on TCDB here:

Welcome!

For #2, there is an issue with regular binders where the bottom corners of the pages will be the only part touching the surface you're setting them on in a lot of cases. If stored horizontally like you mention. That’s due to some binders having a gap below the binder “backing” (front/back cover) and the pages. Over time that can cause page corners to curl up since they aren’t resting flat. I can confirm this happens, but i've never seen it damage the cards. I don't store very high end cards in my regular binders, however, so I was never too worried about it tbh.

The Z-folio binders don't have this issue as the pages aren't like normal binder pages with the three holes. They are rigid in the binder, and there's even a space between the page and the bottom of the binder itself, see below.

#3, I will definitely be more aware of that in the future! :D

Took me a while to carve out the time but that was a watch that was well worth it. So educational about 90s parallels and really cool to see it all in a continuous viewing stream. I think it was the most I've appreciated 90s cards as a non-90s collector.

Love the binders, very organized! Seeing these ungraded inserts from one specific team is really special. I'd imagine you having a hard time to add some Mahmoud Rauf serially #'ed inserts. Thanks for sharing
