Re: 2023-24 Topps Chrome Basketball discussion
Fanatics has been very straight on what they are doing, they try to make sports cards something bigger than it should be. (It is more than sub category of sports) So they will keep testing the boundaries of the market, keep trying the line regarding how to sell cards at lowest cost. (Like remember t...

A sincere Thank You for the hobby "negativists".
When I saw Tiffany Cards shared his/her inbox messages, TBH, I was astonished. I do not follow a lot of people when I was still in the hobby. I heard from Dan he sometimes receives some very negative message. But the message Tiffany Cards received, to me, is pure BS. Let me try to put things in pers...

Re: Do you watch modern basketball and do you collect modern players?
I never really watched any games in the 90s. I guess I just enjoyed ripping cards and chilling with my friends at the store back then. I do follow news and sometimes I will spend 10-30 sec on reels regarding NBA games now. And since I came back, my FB page keeps popping the NBA debates between MJ an...

Re: Should Card "Cleaning" be Considered Alteration?
You do realize though, the stuff in your first paragraph has a lot to do with the reasoning that exists in your last paragraph and your decision to stop? Yes, I do. But I cannot blame people for that. Like today I talk to Dan on FB. I tell them when I told my friend how little care sports cards gra...

Re: Should Card "Cleaning" be Considered Alteration?
I understand where you're coming from. There are guys who are very popular now who ruined the whole hobby, all this stuff that is happening now is a result of their selfish and greedy efforts. (Example, I recall seeing photos of one of the Nubani brothers using Kunt's card care, when instead he sho...

Re: Should Card "Cleaning" be Considered Alteration?
I feel, this is not a good enough reply from PSA. So we know Kurt's cleaning is alteration, how do they avoid that? Like, we know lab diamond is very popular now, so when I send a diamond to GIA, I need to know it is natural but not lab grown. I send a watch to Rolex, I need to know it is Authentic....

Thanks Dengbang and Abra
I mean, I really want to share my cards with people who treasure them like I do. I am in contact with the show and I will definitely go there with the cards.

Is it weird to bring a 200k collection for show at a cardshow
I am thinking to go to the show in Macau. My shop will likely buy a table for sales and promotion. I am thinking, should I bring my small 90s collection with me. Maybe it is a stupid question to most, like who cares, you do what you like. My concern is I do not want to be a weirdo. Like in HK, call ...

Re: !!!---TOP 10 Cards from your Player Collection---!!!
Abra, great thread. I was just sharing the SPX Finite on my IG and I was like, it was really an underappreciated set. The chop makes the card look insanely valuable and the pose and everything are so great. Chris, I love the story. I guess, in many cases the hobby is wrong focusing the chase cards. ...

Re: Is there anything from the 90s that's currently "worth it" ?
I only buy 90s parallel, low to mid ends I suppose. Are they worthy? Honestly, I do not know. I can only say, it MUST BE better than spending 50-80k a year on apps game for the last 10-15 years. (99% of those apps shut down already) I can only parallel buying cards now with buying Yugioh OCG, almost...

Re: When will 90s chase parallels start adjusting?
I agree with kingofsnake's take: I think you should be considering any money you spend on cards totally lost forever as it would be if this was another hobby such as scrapbooking, rc cars, drones, legos, video games, mobile apps like you've mentioned, etc. Sure, is there a chance that your collecti...

Re: When will 90s chase parallels start adjusting?
It's really tough to determine what will happen. I think it's a safe bet that certainly there are corrupt people with a lot of money who want to bleed our hobby dry and they will never be satisfied. On a personal level, I can no longer take current prices seriously, I have quit set building, I have...

OP, I’ve followed your Instagram story posts for the last couple months, so I may have a better idea of your situation than those who have only read your forum posts. I apologize if I sound too presumptive, but especially in regards to your most recent IG poll, it seems like you’re looking to valid...

Re: When will 90s chase parallels start adjusting?
The 90’s market for certain parallels that aren’t buried in PCs or thrown away at this point is largely controlled by a small number of people. I honestly couldn’t say if they have ill intent or just want it all for themselves, but it is what it is and with social media we can pretty much confirm t...

Re: When will 90s chase parallels start adjusting?
From my understanding, most cards are adjusting. Some people have suggested many iconic 90s cards like Jordan Jambalaya have fallen alot from the peak. Yet, from my own research on chase parallels (Except Red PMG) like Rubies, EC, metal fusion, CPMG are staying very strong and for those that have n...

Re: Geoff Wilson BlackBalling Critics? New AIH video.
I guess, we have to accept most influencers, especially those heavily invested in the market, have zero integrity and just care about how 10x the market will benefit them. Like awhile back, fanatics signed a popular influencers having no background with sports cards (or very little relationship) for...

Re: A Rolling Mailday Thread
These are the 5 cards I got since I back to the hobby in late May. I think I am quite strict to what I can purchase. (Other than the Iverson Gold Stars, I wanna see the appeal of the set) I am not even over-spending. (Which, when I starts any apps game, it is very likely to occurs) In the end, I thi...

Re: IG user Cardporn aka Juan Garcia Wrapped up in Jordan Jersey Authentication Scandal
It sounds fishy when Juan disappeared and deleted everything. Of course, he is innocent until proven guilty. Maybe he has already seeked legal help and the lawyer suggested him to shut up and deleted everything. (But delete all the evidence, hm.........)

Re: What percent of people in this space collect long term
I feel like a lot of the oldheads do buy/sell/trade and have a solid collector's PC. But most of the younger and newer people in the hobby are all about the Gary Vee fliplife and making money and the fake manufactured glorification of the fliplife lifestyle. Their blogs and IG stories flashing arou...

In terms of value of cards, yes. And how they are conducting busines is making things even BETTER for gamblers in the hobby. Keep regarding a valuable cards UNTIL it reaches a grade they desire is making the market alive.

Re: Grading companies = bad for the hobby?
Grading is overall good for the hobby imo, as things like TAG become more accepted, the other companies will need to improve (hopefully). While I do find it frustrating that there is no transparency, and that the same card can get different grades, I do think they get it right most of the time. It ...

Re: What percent of people in this space collect long term
I define there are a few layers of collectors. I guess I am at level 2, taking sports cards as an ALT investment. People like me, usually does not sell alot but they will keep buying. They love to brag how good their insight is as well as being very bitter regarding those not doing well. Pretty much...
